The curation mission

Scouted by machine, judged by editors.

Weirdlyis a hyperlocal daily publication. The AI does the volume — it scans every corner of the city, every public post, every opening — but the editorial rate is what we're known for: only the top 10% of submissions get published, and only after a small human team writes the final caption, picks the channel, and stamps the disclosures.

That's the trade. Machine speed, editor's taste, FTC-clean disclosure on every sponsored post. The AI surfaces more than we could ever read; the editors decide what readers see.

Quantity is the community's job. Taste is ours.

We curate what a city visitor could only find by walking it. Anything a national directory already lists, we skip.

How a submission becomes a find.

Four steps, same gate for every city. The submission becomes the backlog — the editorial gate turns it into the daily publication.

    Submit

    Anyone in a live city pitches a find: vintage salvage, indie coffee, vinyl drops, pop-up dinners, live music, architecture worth saving. One short form, a URL to verify, a category tag.

    Step 02

    Surface

    Each submission lands in the editor queue with title, category, city, and source URL ready for human review — no AI volume scaling past what the editors can read.

  3. 03

    Step 03

    Curate

    A small human editorial team approves the top ~10% — and stamps FTC disclosures (#sponsored, #affiliate) on every flagged post before it ships.

  4. 04

    Step 04

    Publish

    Approved finds appear on Today's Finds for that city that day, sourced from the editor-approved queue — same editorial gate for every channel.
